Action List: Submit your site to the Open Directory Project

The Open Directory Project (http://www.dmoz.org) is one of the most important search directories on the internet.  Many of the other search engines give greater weight to websites that appear on the DMOZ site - that’s because DMOZ apply stringent criteria to all sites that aspire to become part of their directory and it’s bloody tough to get into!

It is important that you try - here are the instructions:

You can try as hard as you like to get into DMoz but the chances of being listed are almost zero! Their editors are very picky about who they let in and dont advise if you do or dont get in. Best advise is to read the submission guidelines like they are the law, then read this post .

Yes it can be hard to get into this directory. It depends whether the category that you are trying to post it has a proactive editor or not. A way around this is to become an editor yourself, but I think this takes time too!

I have been lucky enough to get Boomerang Books listed in DMOZ, but my other businesses have not been listed - yet.
