This is what Boomerang Books looked like in August 2002 - blehhhh. Orange and grey, what was I thinking?

The Netpreneur website is run by Clayton Wehner, a bloke who lives in Adelaide and wants to achieve financial independence on the web.

Clayton launched his first website in 1999 - it was a personal site using his ISP's free web hosting space.  The predominantly lime green-coloured website featured a gaudy self-portrait which ensured that the site was short-lived.

Clayton's second site, Hebat!, was an online resource for students of the Indonesian language that he lovingly put together in Microsoft Frontpage whilst studying Indonesian in Army.

By 2002, Clayton was hooked on the internet and wanted to try and make some money from it.  He started Boomerang Books, an Australian online bookstore, which he operated purely in his spare time (much to his wife's chagrin).  Over the next 5 years, Clayton would spend his day working full-time as an Army Officer / Public Servant / Consultant / Manager and then come home to work assiduously on his website - instead of heaping attention upon his long-suffering wife, as he was supposed to...

Boomerang Books continues to operate today and has grown significantly since its genesis back in 2002.   So much so that Clayton has recently quit his day job to concentrate on developing the site - and to work on a number of other website projects.  Life is good for Clayton, but also quite stressful as he tries to work out where the next dollar is coming from.

Clayton also operates a number of other websites in various stages of development - http://www.getaroom.com.au, http://www.buyupbig.com.au, http://www.capitaljobs.com.au.  Hopefully one of them will help Clayton achieve the financial independence that he is seeking.  If not, it's back to working for the man....

In his little spare time, Clayton enjoys running, watching cricket, supporting the Adelaide Crows, eating great food and drinking premium beers.  He also enjoys spending time with his wife (and dog, Barney).
